Happy Guam Independence day
Guam was declared independent on July 21, 1944. This day is celebrated as the Liberation Day every year. The Battle of Guam was fought by the United States in the year 1944 and Guam was made an independent territory. Before independence, Guam was ruled  by Japan.
Chers(eres) Francophones: Bonne Fete Nationale, Vive la France!
On July 14, 1789, the sans-culottes took over la Bastille, a Paris jail and ammunition depot, to free their fellow citoyens oppressed by the monarchy. That was the starting point of the French Revolution.
update on Madame Ball

President’s decision to have an early start on the preparation of our 40th Madame Ball with her own appointed Chair Committee was overruled by the act of  “recent tradition”.  Although our Constitution Article V, Section IV and our By-Laws Article V, Section 1, A2 clearly stipulate that the president will appoint the Chairwomen for each committee established, tradition of the most recent years has been appointing VP as chair person. Madame Ball Committee meetings will resume in August as per VP’s original planned decision.  See you all, in a couple of months 🙂
